Magical Treat Monday!

And yes I do realize that it is in fact Tuesday. I was caught up in Yule gifts yesterday I completely forgot what day it was, oops :) With the new Harry Potter right around the corner (so can not wait!), Andreann over at Aux Demilunes is having a 5 day blog party! Woot!!

Krispie Cauldron Cakes

Ingredients:
5 cups Rice Krispie cereal
1 bag marshmallows
4 tablespoons butter/margarine
9 x 13 baking dish
Frosting

In a sauce pan over low heat, melt the butter/margarine. Once melted, add marshmallows and stir until melted. Once marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and add cereal. Stir until well coated. Add mixture to a well greased 9 x 13 baking dish (if you desire a thicker cake, use a smaller baking dish). Press until pan is filled and let cool. Once cooled, cut into squares. Add frosting to a pastry bag or sandwich bag (if using sandwich bag, nip a corner of the bag with a pair of scissors, careful not to make the hole too large). Squeeze and decorate your cakes with the frosting. Enjoy!

And for those Quidditch loving people...

Quidditch Players Pie

Ingredients:

1 -1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 3/4 cups water
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup milk
10 oz pkg frozen peas and carrots
Enough mashed potatoes to cover
8 ozs. shredded cheddar cheese

Brown the beef in a large skillet. When cooked, remove from heat, drain fat and set aside. Using the same skillet, add water and onion soup mix. Cover and cook 5 minutes. Whisk flour into milk. Add to skillet, and cook, stirring until a nice gravy forms. Add cooked beef and veggies. Stir to combine. Spray a casserole and put beef mixture on bottom. (Can be done ahead to this point). Spread potatoes over to cover and bake in 350 degree oven about 15 minutes or longer, until mixture is hot (if you’ve taken this straight from the fridge, count on 30 minutes or so). Sprinkle with cheddar and put back in oven until cheese melts.

Be sure to check her blog for other party revelers and their tasty treats! Next up, wizard wear!
