Creative Inspiration ~ Swirls

Whether it’s black and white or full color, I have always been drawn to swirls of every kind. I’ve been drawing them since high school. A lot of times it’s to dress up something that is completely boring. My inspiration this week comes from a set of my cabinet doors that I’ve finished. The second set is about half done.

I couldn’t resist adding some personality to a rather bland case for medication.
My guitar case was the first piece (other than the random pair of jeans) that I applied my swirls to. I love the silver on black.
I’m always amazed on how something turns out by just letting go with a Sharpie Marker in hand.
Want to check out some more swirly art? Check out my Pinterest board that I created just for swirls.
What inspires you?

Creative Inspiration ~ Make Art!

This weeks inspiration comes from a quote that I saw on Pinterest. This quote inspired me to do just what it says..Make art and then make MORE art! So I pulled out one of my art journals and went to town!

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” ~ Andy Warhol

I know I have a hard time trying not to listen to my inner critic. But this quote just really hits it home. Who cares what other people think as long as you are creating something you love.

Hope it inspires!

Creative Inspiration Thursday ~ Autumn

The leaves are changing fast around here lately. I wake up each morning with very little green left on the trees. I love looking at the various colors, all seem to be brighter this year that years past.
Today's creative inspiration comes from Pinterest.

Happy Inspiration Thursdays!

Creative Inspiration Thursday ~ Pumpkins

Danni over at The Whimsical Cottage is hosting a Count Down to Hallowe’en blog party. To get in the mood for the party, I’m sharing a few pictures I snapped while at the Corning Museum of Glass. The glass artists there created pumpkins and gourds in various sizes, shapes, and colors. I fell in love with all of them!

And to get my little orange ornament in the Halloween spirit, I finished it off to look like a pumpkin (since it’s already decided it wanted to be one with its shape).

And as always.. be inspired!

Creative Inspiration Thursday

This was an idea that I had over the weekend. I love finding things that inspire me. Whether it's a person, place or thing, if it inspires me in some way I am all over it. Creative Inspiration is important to me. I find when I am in a creative rut, if I find something that inspires, it tends to spark creativity once again.

So I thought I'd try something new, Creative Inspiration Thursdays. Each Thursday I will blog about something that inspires me (and maybe you as well!). I saw this image on Pinterest (so addicted to that site) and fell in love with the style and simplicity of it.

It's by an artist named Elisa Mazzone. You can find more of her work here.

Creative Inspiration Thursday: Bubbles!

I decided to take a break from my crafting for an obligatory inspiration break. My inspiration tonight...Bubbles! I love bubbles! I love pictures of bubbles!

"Bubble Rain" by Steve Jurvetson

I find it hard not to be inspired by bubbles. The delicate nature of the sphere, the swirls of colors, the reflections.
from Wikipedia
The simplicity, and yet the complexity. The magic of creating bubbles and letting them fly. The overwhelming urge to chase bubbles down and the squeals of laughter of them popping.

I was even inspired to create a bubble treasury on etsy.

And with that I bid you all a good night. I wish you all bubble filled magical dreams tonight.
