A step back in time...

Yesterday we spent the day in the small town of Warwick, England. It's been years since hubby and I've been to the Sterling Renaissance Festival. We loved it the first time we went years ago and enjoyed taking the kiddo this year. It was the kid's first time and he's already been asking if we can go back again next year (which is fine by me!).

The Queen of England arrived to kick start everything off.

There was music...

And dancing...

Tasty treats...

Hubby was really hungry for that turkey leg
There was even the feathered variety of faire goers...

Red Tailed Hawk
And of course it wouldn't be a Renaissance Festival without a bit of jousting...

We had a great time. It was a good distraction from what's going on at hubby's work and his job. And even more of a break from taking care of a sick kitty.

Poor Orion hasn't eaten anything since Friday and hasn't been acting like himself. After a quick trip to the vet's this morning, poor thing has a sore throat and swollen tonsils. We've got some antibiotic for him and I'm sure he'll be seeking out all kinds of loving from mama in a few days. Right now he's napping under my craft table and getting rest he hasn't been able to in a few days.

Since the weather outside is rainy, today is a perfect day for some cleaning and maybe some creating later.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  1. Ooh... Sterling looks lovely. I have been planning to make the long trip to visit at some point. This makes me want to even more. :)

  2. *cries* That was my home Faire my entire life, it looks like it was positively lovely this year! While the one here in NC is wonderful, but there's no place like Sterling!

  3. Betsy, if you ever get the chance I highly recommend it. The food is great, the shopping is wonderful and the actors are awesome. You walk through the front gates and you do really feel you've stepped back in time.

Danni, yes it was lovely this year. It's been at least 6 or 7 years since we've been last. I think they've added or changed things around a little but it was still great. You'll have to make a trek one day to visit again.
