This was a quick project that I had completed a few weeks ago and just never posted (I really need to work on that).
Anyway, I was gifted a crystal ball by a friend some time ago. It's a pretty good size ball too, but it lacked one thing. It needed a stand of some sort. I've searched online for bases that I liked. But they were just too fancy for my taste. I wanted something simple and low in case the ball got knocked and it rolled off it's base.
I had picked up a couple small terra cotta dishes for another swap. It dawned on me one day that I had an extra dish that I didn't have a use for. Well I now had a use for it.
A couple coats of black paint, a coat of metallic blue paint, some clear sealer and a piece of felt later...
Behold!
A crystal ball stand!
And it just happened to be the perfect size for my ball.
