Whew..where has the time gone!?

What a crazy couple of weeks it has been. It's hard to believe that May is almost over already. You have no idea how many times I've started a blog post just to delete it later to start again. My poor blog's been feeling a bit neglected.

Today I am dealing with a very sore elbow. I've spent the last 2 days digging new flower beds near the lower deck and planting our baby Weigela bushes that were delivered on Wednesday.

The last few weeks has been nothing but a planting frenzy really. A few months ago, mom and I sat down and figured out what plants we would want to plant to give the gardens color from Spring to Fall. My dad's only been after my mom to do it since my family moved into this house some 15 years ago. But once all the planting is finished and the plants start to establish themselves, there will be all kinds of color to attract the butterflies and hummingbirds.

There is still a bit to do in the gardens. There is still a lot of weeding to do and bulbs to plant in the fall. And of course the weather hasn't helped much with the weeding bit. But you do what you can when you can.

Of course the downside to all the planting is my crafting and artwork have suffered a bit. By the time we come inside, have dinner, put the kid to bed, I'm ready for bed myself.

But I have started getting back into crafting and artwork lately. I've missed it really. I always miss it when I don't create something that involves some sort of mess with paint, paper and glue. I really do need to start doing a little bit of art every day. I think it'll help keep me sane lol.

I have a few more projects in the works that I'll blog about later on. And I'll be posting pictures of my finished art journal pages in the next few days.

Here's to being creative in one way or another!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

  2. I agree! Mom and I took a walk around the yard to check in with all our plants. They really do love the rain, especially our baby lilac bushes which both have lots of new growth on them. My herbs are loving all the rain we've been having as well.
